Difference Between Crossbow Arrows And Bolts
Well, there are none!
Both are the same thing and should not be confused with bow arrows. However, if you speak about bolts there are no confusion, so we will refer to it as bolts in this article.
So What Are The Best Crossbow Bolts?
Actually, that is not an easy question to answer. It depends on which crossbow you use, what type of shooting you do and what you are shooting at.
Let’s look at the most important aspects:
Bolt Length
Most crossbow bolts (for a full sizes crossbow) are between 16 and 22 inches. Follow the recommendation of your crossbow manufacturer as the last thing you want is a bolt that is too short or too long for the crossbow.
Bolt Weight
Most bolts will show the bolt weight as Grains Per Inch (or GPI). The higher the GPI the heavier the bolt. Heavier bolts pack more of a punch so might be better for hunting, but you need a powerful enough crossbow to handle the heavy bolts!
Brand Names
Crossbow manufacturers normally manufacture bolts as well, so an easy choice would be to just use the same brand bolt as your crossbow. Barnett features quite high in popularity.
